3 Apps I Can’t Live Without

Today we’ll uncover the 3 productivity apps that I currently can’t live without.

Let’s dive right in!

Notion

Notion is my ultimate productivity app so it serves right to put it at the top of my list.

Although I initially used Notion for my note-taking needs, I found it could do a lot more and now use it as a workpace for planning and tracking too.

First up, here’s a look at how I use Notion for my weekly planner. I like to add an insightful quote for that week and just fill in my plan for each day. I plan out my week before the week has begun so I already know what I have to get done.

You could also segregate each type of task by tagging it with either ‘important’ or ‘might-do’ so you can prioritise the highlights of your day.

Another example of how I like to use Notion is for active recall. Just by typing out a block of questions for each topic, I can test myself and identify my weak areas within that topic. I then colour code each question using the traffic light system (green for most accurate and red for least accurate) and repeatedly work on my weak areas until I am confident enough to change it to green. Once I have actively recalled that topic, I would then note the date beside the topic title.

Rofocus

Rofocus is a chrome extension that I use for focus sessions. It’s a pretty basic pomodoro timer but it’s been SO HELPFUL in tracking my study periods.

I set the timer for 25-45 minutes depending on what I’m feeling and follow that with a 5-10 minute break. That’s it!

It really gets me into the cycle of productivity and by the end of it, I feel like I’ve got some solid work done without the burnout.

I also like to set an ambient mood with the variety of sounds they have designed to help you focus.

Duolingo

I took up learning languages in my ‘productive procrastination’ time when I decided to add travelling the world to my bucket list.

This app has been amazing in helping me improve my vocabulary and fluency in Spanish. I’ve now recently started using it for Japanese as well and I’m definitely enjoying it!

The app has speaking and writing exercises, interactive stories, daily reminders and of course a flawless interface.

Below is an example of how it works.

So that is it! I hope you enjoy using these apps as much as I do if you’re someone looking to improve productivity.
